Your skin may be a battlefield this time of year. In most places, it’s a dry, dark, deep freeze and there is still at least 6 weeks of it left. Hempista is lucky to live in California, but we know you may not be as lucky! But you know what, our skin gets dry here too! It’s a dry climate, even when the rains come in the winter. We’ve got some great California skin tips to share with you today!
1. Hemp. We can’t stress this enough. This is the beauty secret of millions of women in our great state! A glass bottle of organic hemp seed oil is the best cosmetic you will ever own. Hemp seed oil does everything from removing makeup with the added benefit of essential fatty acids, as a moisture and skin conditioning scrub rub with sea salt, a hair conditioner and more. And hemp seed oil is legal in every state; you can find it at the local natural foods store. Don’t buy this volatile oil if it is not refrigerated. Hemp seed oil degrades in sub-optimal conditions. It needs to be refrigerated and smell fresh when you purchase it. Keep it refrigerated at all times after purchase and use within 6 months.
Hemp seed oil combined with herbs like cayenne and camphor makes a great muscle and joint pain massage rub too. A tablespoon a day of this precious oil is also good for brain and nerve health — and again, completely legal in every state.
2. Cool moisture. If you don’t live in California you can’t get our glorious, thick FOG. Walking or running in the fog is very invigorating and moisturizing! To get your own dose of cool moisture at home, invest in a cool moisture humidifier. These are heaven on earth when you run them next to your bed as you sleep.
